Update on Werku Golle

Here is an update of Werku. The Lord gave us a tremendously successfully fundraising campaign with over $100,000 donated in 3 weeks. Thank you for your efforts and prayers on behalf of Werku and his family. Thank you for your loving, continuing  ministry to Ethiopia

2 Corinthians 1:11

as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”

The tumor was COMPLETELY removed. It is benign, it is NOT malignant/cancer. The surgeons pointed out that ALL of the tumor was removed i.e. even the smallest bit

There was some concern that the tumor might cause a loss of vision as well as long-term hormonal imbalance or deficiency. None of this occurred because of how the tumor was growing (down from the pituitary and not up). In summary, no hormonal consequences are expected.

This was a very very SLOW growing tumor probably present for at least 10 years or more, therefore if does come back it would take many many years for it to grow back to a point where it would present any problem.

A follow-up screening MRI at 6 months, 1 year, and again in 3-5 years, to detect any regrowth is recommended. There is a long recovery, at least 6-12 weeks before he will get over the weakness, and I expect that we will be able to support also his recovery.

This is an enormous PRAISE to the Lord! How glorious and merciful He is! Werku and his family are grateful beyond words for the prayers and financial support which both made this surgery possible, and the earnest entreaties which were heard on high and effective.

Update of donations: We have received over $100,000 for Werku’s medical expenses to date. This should cover most of the medical expenses and some after care. Thank you all for you generosity.
