Pastor of Student Ministry
The Lord called Chris to salvation in 1994 during his junior year at UC Santa Barbara. After graduation, Christ led him into his first ministry as a high school pastor, where he discovered a passion to help students know Jesus in a profound way. He has had the privilege to reach students in other capacities as a teacher, pastor to youth and college students as well as a director of a pregnancy center education outreach to youth and college students. God opened the door for Chris to earn a Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary in 2005 and now puts that training to full use with FBC’s middle school students as well as teaching Bible and history at North County Christian School.
The heart of the FBC Student Ministry is to teach the Scriptures in order to cultivate greater completeness in Christ (Colossians 1:28) as well as to instill a love for people from every tribe, tongue and nation (Acts 10:28b).
Chris, and his wife Bonnie, have been married for over twenty years. They have three young men, Elijah (20), Seth (19) and Levi (10). Chris Esparza is our Pastor of Student Ministry.
